About this Speaker
Coach Morales begins his second year as the Head Basketball Coach at Eastwood High School. He is graduate of Socorro High School where he was an All-City and All-District MVP 1st team selections. He was also named Mr. Basketball El Paso as he led Socorro to two straight Bi District Championships. He then began his collegiate career at Cochise College where he was voted team captain. In his second year, his team made the school’s first ever National Junior College Tournament. After junior college, he continued his collegiate career at New Mexico Highlands University, where he tied the record for most three pointers in one game. After College, he was offered a job to become graduate assistant basketball coach at Sul Ross State University, where he also earned his Master’s Degree. Coach Morales had great success in his first season leading the Troopers to a 24-win season and winning a Bi District Championship. He has also had great success at his previous stops. As Head Coach at Bowie High School, he took his team to a Sweet 16 appearance and a 31-3 overall record. At Coronado High School, he won back to back to back District Championships, three Bi-District Championships, and two regional quarterfinal appearances. One of his most memorable moments is when he played his special needs manager, Mitchell Marcus, in the last game of his senior season at Coronado High School. It made national headlines and will forever be one the greatest stories to come out of El Paso. Coach Morales will continue to impact student-athletes every step of the
way. Coach Morales and his beautiful wife, Michelle, have two lovely kids in Olivia and Joshua Morales.
